wonderful nest my mom found at a remote window in her house. It was not a problem so she left it where it was. It was not a hornets' nest but that of a rare small wood wasp species. Nevertheless the colours and the way they built their nest was reminiscent of that hornets build.

At first sight this painting seems to be abstract but if you look closely you will realize that it is the detail shot of a huge crystal - a topaz.

I started with painting a first background  layer for the faux marble pattern with acrylic paint. How can anything be so timelessly beautiful and modern at the same time?

These rock and cave paintings have been inspirational for many artists - the motifs are not new. But there are motifs which are picked up again and again.
